“Bark to the Future,” a Fundraising Prom, Slated to Occur October 6th



 

September 28, 2008 –Philadelphia, PAPinups for Pitbulls, an international not-for-profit organization is hosting a fundraiser in Philadelphia on Saturday, October 6th called “Bark to the Future.”  This retro-style prom includes entertainment, music, food, and drink along with an opportunity for guests to win over $4,000 in raffle prizes.

Inspired by the Enchantment Under the Sea dance that is a part of the original Back to the Future Movie, the “Bark to the Future,” event will have vintage style decorations, a photo booth, food and specialty drinks.  Guests can purchase VIP or Regular tickets to the event.  VIP tickets allow early entry to the event and include a meet and greet with Pinups for Pitbulls Founder, Deirdre Franklin along with a special VIP Gift Bag and a copy of Deirdre Franklin’s book Little Darling’s Pinups for Pitbulls.

Tickets for the event can be purchased through the Pinups for Pitbulls website.  The event is scheduled to take place, Saturday October 6th at Smokin’ Betty’s (116 S. 11th Street, Philadelphia, PA, 1907) from 2:00-5:00pm.  VIP entry begins at 1:15pm.  While not required, participants are encouraged to wear prom attire inspired by the fifties or eighties.

About Deirdre Franklin and Pinups for Pitbulls 

Deirdre Franklin is the founder of Pinups for Pitbulls, an international not-for-profit organization.  Franklin is a published author with a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Drexel University. She uses her knowledge of helping to change policy to influence the decision of lawmakers regarding the implementation of Breed Specific Legislation.  Franklin helps to oversee an international group of volunteers who participate in events to share information about ending BSL while also raising funds through selling Pinups for Pitbulls merchandise and accepting donations.
