ALLENTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION is looking for volunteers to work on reading skills with kindergartners in classrooms across the city. Next training session is Tuesday, October 29 from 2-3pm at Jackson Elementary Childhood Center, 517 N. 15 St. Park on street or shopping center lot nearby. CENTER FOR VISION LOSS, Whitehall needs volunteers to assist clients with visual impairment during a weekly walk at the Lehigh Valley Mall every Wednesday from 9-10:30am. All volunteers will be trained in sighted guide procedures. All volunteers must use their own transportation to the Mall and have a current FBI Criminal Background Clearance. INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION NETWORK LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem invites you to experience the satisfaction of helping a senior age in place or a sight-impaired adult remain independent by volunteering to drive to medical appointments, grocery stores, church services, etc. Must have your own vehicle, clean driving record, and love seniors. KELLYN FOUNDATION, Tatamy needs volunteers for their Lehigh Valley VegStock on Saturday, October 12 from 11am-5pm at Llantrisant Retreat & Wellness Center in Tatamy. This is a Healthy Harvest Festival with vendors, crafters, musicians, entertainment, games, food, speakers with tips on healthy living, and more. Volunteers are needed on Friday, October 11 for set up. THE SALVATION ARMY, Allentown is seeking volunteers willing to help process applications for families seeking Christmas assistance. Volunteers will receive and review required documentation and identification, help applicants complete a simple application required to receive toys, gifts, and food for the holiday season. Minimum of 3 volunteer hours on days selected: 9am-3pm on Monday Oct. 21; Tuesday Oct. 22; Thursday Oct. 24; and Friday Oct.25; 9am-8pm on Wednesday Oct. 23.
