Mark Pinsley Announces His Audit Harrisburg Plan

Allentown, PA 3/19/24 – Lehigh County Controller and Democratic Party candidate for Auditor General Mark Pinsley announced his Audit Harrisburg plan ahead of the April 23rd Primary Election day.

“As the Auditor General of the entire Commonwealth, I am responsible for ensuring accountability across the board, including among our politicians and influential corporations. We require an Auditor General who remains impartial and cannot be influenced by insiders.”

There are two parts to the Audit Harrisburg plan.

Initially, a thorough examination of “lobbyist gifts,” encompassing undisclosed gifts, is imperative. “It is the right of the people to be informed about their government’s influencers. Understanding the extent of gifts, the involved industries, and the prevalence of concealed lobbying is crucial. We must increase the transparency of legal bribery and shine sunlight on the landscape of lobbying endeavors,” said Pinsley.

Second, a systemic issue persists with political candidates and independent expenditure organizations that blatantly disregard legal requirements by failing to submit campaign finance reports. “These entities obscure their donors and expenditure details, posing a significant threat to our democratic processes,” remarked Pinsley

“These pledges will not be popular with insiders and lobbyists, but they are important for the people. I have a track record of holding powerful institutions accountable and will continue that as your Auditor General. I am the only Democrat who has done the job and the only one calling out Harrisburg,” Pinsley concluded.
