Ciocca Subaru Presents Checks To Special Olympics of Pennsylvania And The Alzheimers Association



 

Lehigh Valley, PA – Ciocca Subaru presented a check for $8,644 to the Special Olympics of PA and a check for $9,079 to The Alzheimer’s Association as part of the National Subaru “Share the Love” Event.

The event took place Saturday, May 19 at Ciocca Subaru, 4611 Hamilton Blvd., Allentown, PA.  Representatives from The Alzheimer’s Association and athletes and families from Special Olympics joined management of Ciocca Subaru and representatives from Subaru of America for the presentation.

From Nov. 21 through Jan. 2, Subaru’s “Share the Love” event donates $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to the customer’s choice of the following national charities with a minimum guarantee of $250,000: The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®), Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America and National Park Foundation. Subaru has donated nearly $20 million to charitable causes since the program’s inception four years ago.

In addition to the four national organizations, Ciocca Subaru chose to support the Special Olympics of PA and the Alzheimer’s Association though the “Hometown Charities” aspect of the program.

The mission of Special Olympics PA is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

The mission of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
