MOVIES IN THE PARK: “THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS”

The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park series continues Saturday September 8 at Cedar Beach Park with the rescheduled screening of “The Secret Life of Pets.”

This PG rated animated movie features the voices of Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart. “Max (Louis C.K.) is a spoiled terrier who enjoys a comfortable life in a New York building until his owner adopts Duke (Eric Stonestreet), a giant and unruly canine. During their walk outside, they encounter a group of ferocious alley cats and wind up in a truck that’s bound for the pound. Luckily, a rebellious bunny named Snowball (Kevin Hart) swoops in to save the doggy duo from captivity. In exchange, Snowball demands that Max and Duke join his gang of abandoned pets on a mission against the humans who’ve done them wrong.”

The roughly 85 minute show will begin at dusk (approximately 7:45pm).

Arts and Crafts are available from the City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation as well as face painting by Pretty Scary Faces. Concessions can be purchased from V&C Food Services.

This installment of the Movies in the Park series follows the Friends of the Allentown Parks’ 7th annual Woofstock event.
