As schools search for unique ways to fundraise during the time of Covid-19, the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts will be holding its First Annual Virtual ArtsWalk to take place on September 4-7, 2020.  To ensure social distancing and Covid-19 precautions, participants will walk in their own communities and will be encouraged to experience art along the way.  Participants can take photos of their journey along with any public art that they may experience and share it through the event hashtag, #chartswalk.

All proceeds will benefit the school and will directly support the school’s artistic programs that include dance, instrumental music, literary arts, production arts, theatre, visual arts, and vocal music. The funds raised will support projects such as virtual masterclasses and technology for remote learning.

The official walk will take place 9/4-9/7 – but the signup and donation page are open now!  https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/Bethlehem/ArtsWalk

Any registered walker who donates $50.00 or more by September 4, 2020, will receive a T-shirt. Prizes and T-shirts will be distributed directly to each walker in late-September. Raffle chances will be awarded to each registered walker who raised $100.00 or more.

Prize winners will be announced on the school’s social media the week of September 15, 2020. Prizes will be distributed by mail in late September to the respective winners.
ABOUT THE LEHIGH VALLEY CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS (Charter Arts)

Charter Arts is an audition-based, public charter school that provides a comprehensive curriculum for high school students, grades 9-12, who have a passion for the arts.  Students major in one of seven artistic areas: dance, instrumental music, literary arts, production arts, theatre, visual arts, or vocal music.

Charter Arts’ rigorous curriculum fosters both academic and artistic excellence for its students. The school’s impressive Future Ready PA Index ranking, Advanced Placement (AP) exam statistics, Keystone exam statistics, SAT scores, prestigious artistic accolades, and graduation rate are a testament to the outstanding education Charter Arts provides.

Charter Arts is proud to celebrate its eighteenth year as one of the most respected high schools for the arts in the nation.  Charter Arts was one of only 349 schools in the nation to be named a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education.  In 2020, the school earned the Title I Distinguished School designation for the fourth year in a row, placing it in the top 5 % of all Title I high schools in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
