Starting on Monday May 16 at 8am, businesses and nonprofits who are located in Upper Milford Township have the ability to apply for grants of up to $5,000 to go towards COVID-19 related expenses such as payroll, utilities, or any other related expenses.

Upper Milford Supervisor John D Zgura, a primary driving force behind this program, shares “without question, our small businesses and non-profit organizations are the backbone of our communities.” The Upper Milford Township Board of Supervisors, Chairman Daniel Mohr and Vice Chairman Joyce Moore, along with Zgura approved the allocation of between $50,000 and $100,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act to distribute to local businesses and non-profit organizations.

The Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce will be assisting in the administration of this program, similar to programs run by both Northampton and Lehigh counties, amounting to millions of dollars of relief for the Lehigh Valley’s small businesses. Executive Vice President of the Affiliated Chambers states “The relief that has come from funding through the American Rescue Plan Act has provided a tremendous lifeline for the businesses in the Lehigh Valley. They are the lifeblood of our community and continue to need our support and business. We are thrilled to be working with Upper Milford Township to support the small businesses and nonprofits in this area.”
