World-Class Speed, Rider of the Year Drama, and a Celebration of Japanese Cycling Culture
Trexlertown, PA — The 38th Annual Keirin Cup hits the track at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center this Friday, August 8, bringing the thrilling tradition of Japanese sprint racing to life in one of the most anticipated nights of the summer.
A cornerstone of the VPCC calendar, the Keirin Cup celebrates the elegance and excitement of Japan’s iconic track cycling format—where racers follow a pacing motorcycle (the derny) before launching into a no-holds-barred sprint at speeds over 45 miles per hour.
This year, fans are invited to experience more than just racing. Japanese-style clappers will be handed out to spectators, helping turn the grandstands into a sea of rhythm, energy, and excitement. Come cheer, clap, and celebrate this international cycling tradition—T-Town style.
