The medium senior level 5 team coached by Robi Hanley, Dom Vignali, and Kerri Huber, otherwise known as World Cup Zenith, was awarded a Judge’s Choice Paid Bid at the One Up Cheer Championships held at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center on April 11-12, 2015 in Nashville, TN. The One Up Championships is dubbed as a “world class, season-ending” event and because it draws teams from all over the United States all vying for the coveted Paid Bid to Worlds. To compete at Worlds cheerleading teams must earn either an At Large Bid or a Paid Bid or in non-cheerleading terms a non paid invitation or paid invitation. Non paid invitation (At Large) is whereby the teams attend Worlds but all competition fees and room are covered by the cheerleader’s parents. For a Paid Bid, the cheerleader’s competition fees and room are paid by the sponsor of the event that awarded the bid to the team. For a senior level 5 team, this is their singular goal and it was obtained by Zenith in its inaugural year.

The 2015 Cheerleading Worlds will be nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 networks. Start to finish online coverage will be available through www.USASF.net.

About World Cup

World Cup Phoenix, located in Easton PA, is one of World Cup All Stars three gyms located in Freehold, NJ, Easton, PA, and Olyphant, NJ. World Cup grew out of the Pop Warner success of mother–daughter team Elaine Pascale and Joelle Antico. For many years, Pascale served as coach of the local Pop Warner team that her younger daughter Janee had joined. Eventually, the family moved to Free-hold, New Jersey, where Pascale found herself coaching a Pop Warner midget squad. By this time Antico was attending Penn State and would come home on weekends to assist her mother with the team. In 1992, the pair won their first Pop Warner National Championship. The transition from Pop Warner to all stars was not a big leap for Pascale and Antico. After the national win and with the Pop Warner season over, a small group of their students and parents persuaded them to start a competition squad, and the World Cup All Stars were born.

World Cup All Stars officially began in 1994 and the first team formed was the Shooting Stars. In 1995 World Cup won its very first national championship and from that point, the Shooting Stars have won numerous national championships from NCA, UCA, Cheersport, Spirit Sports, Americheer, WSF and many other companies. Shooting Stars won three consecutive World champion-ship gold medals at the USASF cheerleading worlds in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and have placed in the top 3 every year since. World Cup Phoenix is proud to continue the tradition of excellence World Cup All Stars is renowned for in the competitive cheer industry. With this being their first year, a Judge’s Choice Full Paid Bid is an exceptional accomplishment. Their secret to success has been hard work, determination, and passion for their sport. The end of one season brings the anticipation and excitement for the next. World Cup Phoenix will be holding try outs for the 2015-2016 season. World Cup Phoenix has teams for everyone.
